Reinventing yourself is hard. Sure, some famous entertainers like David Bowie managed to do it every few years, and, of course, politicians try to do it all the time, but it can be a tough challenge. Just ask any child actor who couldn’t convince the public to think of them as anything but a cute kid, or ask a teenage sensation who couldn’t make the transition to adult acting.
Just because it’s a challenge, doesn’t mean it can’t be done though.
If your Maserati is in the shop, it doesn’t matter how fast it can do 0 to 60. Being the coolest kid in school doesn’t help if you can’t line up a date for prom. And that million-dollar bank account might be great, but it doesn’t help if you just lost your wallet and cell phone.
What about your social media? Sure, based on all the ‘likes’ you’ve been getting you should be more popular than ice cream, but are the likes really helping you? You can’t eat likes, and good wishes don’t help you pay your staff or buy new equipment. You need to make sure that your popularity is translating into actual sales.

We all want our business transactions to be as simple as possible. Ideally, we want a simple, defined product, and more importantly we want to know how much it costs. In fact, cost is frequently the most important consideration, so when we’re looking to do business we want to quickly find out how much of a hit our wallets are going to take.
