In the comedy film Multiplicity, construction supervisor Doug Kinney wishes he could be in two places at once since the demands of his job are interfering with his family life. Thanks to Doctor Leeds, a scientist with a handy cloning machine, Kinney is able to make his wishes a reality. Of course, it wouldn’t be much of a comedy if things went according to plan, and Kinney soon finds himself with a lot more of himself than he bargained for.

Ah, the holidays! It’s a great time of year with lots of color and cheer. It’s also a great time to turn your marketing up to 11. There are plenty of good reasons. By now, you’ve probably gotten the idea that having the right contacts in place can really help your small business take off. Getting those contacts is easier said than done, however. It takes time, finesse and more than a little skill to successfully turn a casual meeting into an in-depth conversation and ultimately into a business opportunity. There’s a difference between effective networking and trying awkwardly to make small talk with important people while hoping they don’t notice that mustard stain you picked up during lunch.
